Land Drainage Operative
SP 15 (2026/27)
Reporting to the Works Manager
Overall purpose - to professionally, cost effectively and productively carry out instructed flood water management operational tasks and duties whilst continuing to uphold good health and safety practices at work.
Duties, tasks & responsibilities to include:
· Mechanical roding operations
· Mechanical flailing operations
· Report faults with Board’s equipment
· Hand roding
· Mechanical Cleansing/Drain works
· Civils and general construction works
· Bushing
· Piping
· Surveying
· Jetting
· General Maintenance
· Out of Hours pumping station maintenance
· Standby duties
· Emergency out of hours working
· Report problems in Board’s area
· Liaise with landowners and other members of the public
· Operation of any item of Board’s plant you are trained and qualified to operate
· Any other duties reasonably asked of you
