Pumping Station Caretaker

SP 12 (2026/27), 4X4 vehicle provided

Reporting to the Pump Manager

Overall Purpose.

To professionally, cost effectively and productively carry out instructed flood water management operational tasks and duties whilst continuing to uphold good health and safety practices at work.

Ground maintenance across 35+ sites, as well as supporting minor repairs, assisting with maintenance and inspections at the Board’s pumping stations throughout the year.

Roles & Duties:

· Operation of any item of Board’s plant you are trained and qualified to operate

· Grounds maintenance including grass cutting, strimming, spraying and chainsaw work

· General site and building maintenance including painting, fence repairs, glazing and minor repairs.

· Assisting the Pump Engineer Manager and Assistant Pump Engineer with maintenance and inspections.

· Safe and responsible use of vehicles and equipment.

· Adhering to safety standards and operational procedures.

· Out of Hours pumping station maintenance

· Standby duties

· Emergency out of hours working

· Any other duties reasonably asked of you
