2022/23 Drought Resilience Water Retention

With the expectance of prolonged reduced average rainfall the water retention levels in our non-gravitational sub catchments (Damford, Dunsby, Ewerby, Hacconby, Kirton Marsh, South Kyme & Trinity College) will be gradually increased from this week.

This will offer increased aquatic biodiversity, spring irrigation via abstraction, bank stability and the benefit of reduced pumping hours and therefore cost reduction.

Should we encounter any prolonged rainfall the pumps will be ran to reduce sub catchment water levels.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact The Operations Manager.

Over the coming weeks we will also be reviewing by way of increasing the water retention levels throughout all our sub catchments.
