Storm Babet

Black Sluice IDB have been working hard to pump away the water left by Storm Babet, and we are reducing levels in the drains we maintain as low as possible in anticipation of the additional rain forecast this week. We have been made aware of over topping from Board and EA systems and need to build a picture of this to be able to look to minimise future impacts.

If you have been impacted by Storm Babet and experienced over topping or flooding then could you please let the Board know, ideally with maps showing the extent of the flooding, and if you know, the location of the overtopping.

Our aim is to continually improve our system and if we know where there are issues, we can look to source additional funding to develop schemes to improve the situation for future years.

It would also be useful if you could report any flooding using the Environment Agency's Floodline: 0345 988 1188, especially if the overtopping was from EA watercourses.

The Black Sluice IDB operates a 24/7 Duty Officer line on 01205 821440 (Option 1 out of office hours), if we know about a problem, we can look at potential options during an event, in recovery and long term.
